Industrial SSD — sourcing questions

What makes an SSD "industrial"?
Grade, not branding. An industrial SSD is built to run in conditions a consumer drive isn't rated for: a wide operating-temperature range (commonly −40 ~ 85°C), power-loss protection so an unexpected cut doesn't corrupt data, a fixed/locked BOM so every batch is the same controller and NAND, and endurance stated in TBW/DWPD on the datasheet. A consumer SSD optimizes cost and peak benchmark; an industrial one optimizes durability, predictability and a long, controlled supply life. The "industrial" word only means something when those four things are documented per SKU.
Do you offer power-loss protection (PLP)?
Yes — PLP is available across the range, and we state which mechanism a given SKU uses on the datasheet. Power-loss protection is the difference between a clean drive and a corrupted one when power is cut mid-write: it lets in-flight data and the mapping table finish committing instead of being lost. This matters most for embedded systems, edge devices and anything that can be powered down without a graceful shutdown — a Raspberry Pi or industrial controller that gets its plug pulled is a classic corruption case PLP is designed to prevent.
Do you lock the BOM?
Yes. The controller, NAND and firmware are fixed per order, with locked part numbers, so the drive you qualify is the drive you re-order — no silent component swap that quietly changes performance, endurance or compatibility. This is the single biggest reason buyers move off commodity drives: a consumer SSD can change its NAND mid-product-life without telling you, and a fixed BOM is what keeps a long-deployment design stable.
What temperature range do your industrial SSDs support?
Two tiers. A commercial/extended tier (around 0 ~ 70°C) and a true industrial wide-temperature tier (commonly −40 ~ 85°C), with the rated range stated per SKU on the datasheet. Wide-temperature grade matters for outdoor enclosures, vehicles, signage, and industrial equipment where the drive sees extremes a consumer SSD will throttle or fail in. Tell us the deployment environment and we match the grade.
Why have SSD prices spiked so hard in 2026, and how do I keep supply stable?
NAND allocation has been pulled toward AI/datacenter demand, and commodity SSD supply has tightened sharply — 1TB NVMe drives that were around $80 have been seen near $270, with availability swinging week to week. For a product you have to keep shipping, supply certainty now matters more than chasing the lowest spot price. As an authorized agent of a source factory we confirm price and lead time at order, so they hold firm while the open market dries up — and a locked BOM means the drive stays the same drive across that supply.
My Raspberry Pi / embedded device keeps corrupting storage on power cut. What fixes it?
Two things: an SSD instead of a bare SD card, and power-loss protection. Most "bricked on power cut" cases are a write interrupted mid-commit, leaving the filesystem or the drive's mapping table inconsistent. An industrial SSD with PLP commits in-flight data on power loss, and the wider-grade NAND tolerates the duty cycle far better than a consumer card.
